Six of The Best Cocktails to Enjoy When You Buy A Spa in Brisbane

If you’re thinking of buying a spa in Brisbane then you’ll want to make sure you enjoy the full spa experience and that means…cocktails, and plenty of them!

For relaxation you can’t beat a cool drink in a nice warm spa, so we’ve rounded up six of the best chill out cocktails to sip in the spa. You can pre-make many of these and keep spa ready in mason jars in an ice bucket (you can find plenty of ideas on Pinterest) so you don’t even have to hop out to for a top up!

Number one could not be more appropriate, The Hot Tub.

Hot Tub Ingredients

  • 3 shots cranberry Juice
  • 1 shot Grand Marnier orange liqueur
  • 1 shot Vodka
  • 1 shot of Champagne
  • 1 shot of Chambord Raspberry Liqueur

Method

This one couldn’t be simpler and works well in a tall picnic glass (try to use plastic as you really don’t want to have to empty your spa to pick shards of glass out of it if you drop a glass). Customer care is excellent, but they can’t help you there! Pour cranberry juice over ice in a tall glass. Add the Grand Marnier, Absolut, Champagne and Chambord. Garnish with a cherry and serve.

Number two is a classic favourite, the Espresso Martini.

Ingredients – per martini

  • 1 shot Vodka
  • 1 shot Kahlua
  • Cold Espresso – either decaffeinated or full caffeine, depending on how late your party is going to go
  • 3 whole coffee beans for decoration
  • Ice

Method

Prepare the coffee beforehand and let it chill.

To make your espresso martinis, fill a shaker with ice cubes and add all ingredients, then shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Decorate the top with coffee beans and enjoy! This one also works well in a mason jar, you can even use this as your shaker (cover the hole in the top of the glass when you do). This glass is fairly safe to use in the spa, it doesn’t break easily if you drop it in the water, but do be careful outside.

Number three is another classic, the Frozen Margherita.

Ingredients

  • Salt
  • Lime wedge
  • 2 cups of ice cubes
  • 80ml Tequila
  • 2 tablespoons Cointreau liqueur
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

Method

Spread salt over a plate and rub the rim of each serving glass with the lime wedge. Dip the top of each glass in the salt to coat it well, then put the glasses in the fridge for 5 minutes or until chilled. Put the ice in a blender and pulse until crushed. Then add the Tequila, Cointreau and lime juice, and blend until just combined. Pour into your prepared glasses and serve immediately for an instant cool!

You can also use Margherita mix for these and prep them into mason jars for guests.

At number four we have the always classy Peach Bellini.

Ingredients

For the Peach Purée:

  • 4 peaches (pitted and quartered)
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (fresh; to taste)
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • (Or depending on how much of a fuss you want to make, buy some peach puree premade)

For the Cocktail:

  • 5 grams peach purée
  • Sparkling wine
  • Garnish: peach slice

Method

To make the peach purée, put the peaches, ice, lemon juice, and sugar into a blender and blend until smooth. Taste and add more sweetener or lemon juice as required. You can remove the peach skin if you like, but it’s not essential.

Make the Bellini

Pour the peach purée into a champagne flute (again, best to use plastic to avoid breakages in your spa) and slowly top with sparkling wine while gently stirring to incorporate. If you fancy, decorate with a slice of peach. Serve and enjoy!

Number five is the extremely refreshing Mojito!

Ingredients

  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • small handful mint leaves, plus extra sprig to serve
  • 60ml white rum
  • soda water, to taste

Method

Squish and mix the lime juice, sugar and mint leaves in a small jug, crushing the mint as you go – you can use something heavy and rounded like the end of a rolling pin for this. Pour this mix into a tall plastic glass or mason jar and add a handful of ice. Pour over the rum, stirring with a long-handled spoon. Top up with soda water, garnish with mint and serve. Perfect to enjoy in your outdoor spa pool.

Number six, is last but definitely not least…the Long lsland Iced Tea.

Ingredients

  • 55g caster sugar
  • 60ml fresh lemon juice
  • 250ml chilled cola
  • 60ml water
  • 3 cups ice cubes
  • 80ml chilled vodka
  • 80ml tequila
  • 80ml white rum
  • 80ml gin
  • 60ml Cointreau liqueur

Method

Step 1

Put the sugar and water together in a small saucepan over low heat. Heat the mixture stirring continuously for 2 minutes or until the sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high and bring to the boil. Then let it cook, without stirring, for 3 minutes or until syrup thickens. Remove from heat and set aside for 15 minutes to cool.

Step 2

Divide the ice evenly among serving glasses. Pour over the vodka, tequila, rum, gin, Cointreau, sugar syrup, lemon juice and cola. Serve immediately.

So, now when you buy a spa you have the perfect recipes to host a cocktail party! And, if you buy a swim spa then you’ll be able to work them off! Just remember, too much alcohol and spas do not mix so enjoy, but hop out if you feel woozy or too hot.
